How is my kid's data handled?

Accepted Answer

Two layers. (1) Kid's chat history + creations are saved to your kid's profile, accessible only by you (the parent) via your account dashboard. (2) Pixelkids never trains models on your kid's data. We use Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, and BytePlus (for video) — all enterprise APIs with no-training-on-input contracts. Never sold, never shared with advertisers.

What does it cost after the beta?

We haven't locked pricing yet — we're using the closed beta to learn what families actually use each month before settling on plans. What we'll commit to today: every new kid gets a free 7-day trial with no card required, billing is monthly (cancel anytime), and we'll never silently auto-charge a card you haven't seen. Beta participants get extra runway — early invitees will get a perk when we switch on paid plans. We'll email you at least 7 days before any billing change.

What if my kid doesn't end up using it — can I refund?

After 14 days, cancel anytime and you'll keep access through the end of your current billing period. We're not in the trap-and-bill business; we'd rather you leave clean than feel locked in.

Pixelkids has a multi-tier safety system. Profanity gets gently redirected. Self-harm phrases ("want to die", etc.) trigger a real-time email alert to your parent inbox within seconds — calm-toned, doesn't repeat the phrase. You also get a short morning email after any day your kid was active, and a longer Sunday wrap-up across the week. Quiet days don't trigger an email. Full activity log inside your dashboard.

Can I see what my kid actually does?

Yes. Your parent dashboard shows: (1) saves grouped by track, (2) chat session count, (3) safety flags with kid-readable labels, (4) notification preferences, and (5) full chat transcripts — you can read every conversation your kid has had with Pixelkids. We disclose this to the kid upfront on first sign-up (no surveillance ambush). Visibility without spying.
